About the Artist Jarrett(J.J.) Stinchcomb
Jarrett was born a true floridian and Marco Island native. His interest in art started at an early age of six. He excelled in high school with high honors and graduated top of his class from Lely High School. As a self-taught artist With over 20 years of experience he best describes himself as a "paradise painter". Most of his inspiration comes from being surrounded by water his entire life. It plays a vital role in what he feels and creates based importantly on the ocean and the slowed down speed of true island life.
Creating predominately in the medium of oil on canvas, he also studies in acrylics, charcoal and ink. From portraits to landscapes his paintings and murals are privately collected and commissioned.Always being intrigued by history the last few years have brought him closer to his island roots. Working with local businesses like Ace hardware he created 25ft. x 5ft. mural helping showcase and tell the history and development of Marco Island. Stinchcomb has also been involved in many fundraising events and his work has helped to support the Marco Island Center for the Arts, The Marco Island Chamber of Commerce/ Wet Paint Live, and the Marco Island Historical Society.
